Let’s be honest for a second here. We’ve all been lied to in a relationship, and chances are that we’ve also told a couple of lies to make a good impression. However, there’s a guy who took that way too seriously and ended up in prison for the way he dealt with his – multiple – relationships.

In Japan, a man was arrested and accused of scamming 35 women. He dated all of them at the same time and lied to them about their birthdays to receive multiple gifts, including cash and clothes. Love did not exist for him; he just wanted to get money.

Takashi Miyagawa, 39, worked selling water purifiers, showerheads, and other products at a company in the Asian country.

According to the victims, quoted by the local radio station Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) on its website, the Japanese man began by contacting them to offer them his products. Soon after talking to the women, he would strike up a romantic relationship. He made them believe that he would marry each of them.

One of the latest cases involved a 47-year-old woman. He told her that her birthday was February 22, with the intention that he would give her a present. However, in reality, he was born on November 13. In addition, he assured a young woman that her birthday was in July and another one in April.

The victims became aware of his lies and organized to report him in February of this year. Miyagawa, they told MBS, cheated them out of a total of 100,000 yen (approx. $926).

On April 20, Miyagawa was arrested by the authorities. He is now facing a fraud trial. According to the complainants, there may be more women who have been swindled. Clever as he may be, he got what he truly deserved in the end. I hope that teaches you all a lesson, guys.
