We all know about the Rubik’s Cube or have even had one. This incredible toy has become world-famous since it was released to the public in the ’70s and since then, it has captivated young and old alike with its complicated system.

Solving the Rubik’s Cube has been an obsession of many people for a long time. Its 6 detachable colored faces are not easy to put together and can drive anyone who tries to solve it crazy.

However, many have succeeded, in fact, various ways have been designed to solve it using algorithms and repetitive movements that manage to decipher the exact combinations that are required to complete the great challenge.

Social media are flooded with tutorials that explain the different paths and speeds at which the cube can be solved. But various alternate designs have also been created to the original, with many more pieces and shapes and of course, more difficult.

Mall In China Unveils The World’s Largest Rubik’s Cube

But recently, a mall in Hong Kong called Ninna Mall in conjunction with a company called Kade Global, have decided to take the classic Cube to another level and embarked on a mission to break the world record for the world’s largest functional Rubik’s Cube.

Each side of the cube measures a little over 8 feet so they manage to snatch the record from its previous holder, a British puzzle creator who had made a 6.7 foot Rubik’s Cube and held the record since 2020.

The construction of the cube began in the middle of the Nina Mall on the morning of March 28, 2021, and by the afternoon the assembly work had finished and the cube was already working. Then, people rotated its gigantic pieces and managed to put them in order.

“We’re so proud to be part of this new world record,” said Kade Global on a Facebook post.

The cube will remain on display at the Nina Mall for a month and then probably moved to other locations. Maybe they’ll come somewhere close by and we can get a chance to play with this amazing creation.
